It's a new name for the festival formerly known as the International Children's Theatre Festival, but you can expect plenty more live entertainment for kids from theatre companies as far flung as Canada, Croatia, Italy, Denmark, and Belgium.

Imaginate features theatre, puppetry, clowning and live performances at various venues around Edinburgh for bairns of but a few months to the over-14s.

Performers from Scotland include Andy Manley's My House (for 2-3 year olds), Olga Volt's Shona Reppe Puppets (for 8-year-olds upwards), and TAG Theatre Company's Yellow Moon (for 14-year-old-upwards).
